New FabLab in French Guyana

and space is in the spotlight!

Event in Kourou! Happy to announce the inauguration of Station-K, a new third place dedicated to space and digital solutions.

Located in the heart of the old town, just next to the market place, it opens its doors to students, small businesses, associations, individuals ... with the objective of :

promote and facilitate the use of digital and space technologies in Kourou
organize awareness and training workshops
encourage exchanges between industrialists, entrepreneurs, associations, students and individuals: restitution, ideation, coworking, co-making...
provide tools and knowledge to create prototypes and develop new projects

What can you find there?

Made available by the Kourou City Council, Station-K is a real experimentation laboratory that gives access to many digital tools (graphic station, drones, 3D scanner, programmable electronics...) and prototyping tools (3D printer, laser cutter...)

It will also be the scene of events, conferences, training courses, etc. to support and accompany the development of projects related to digital or space.

For which projects?

Station-K will mainly support projects that meet the following objectives

support the emancipation and vitality of French Guiana's territory
Promote informal exchanges, cultural interactions and social innovation
to contribute to the ecological transition and the transformation of work
to make emerge collective initiatives of innovation and creativity

Station-K is managed by Guyanne Connect, an association under the French law of 1901, which aims to facilitate the use of digital and space technologies for the inhabitants of Kourou and the communes of the CCDS, and to support project leaders in the realization of their ideas.
The founding members are CNES, ArianeGroup, the Rectorat de Guyane and the University of French Guyana.
