FLIGHT DYNAMICS
Flight Dynamics CNES tools and libraries
This is the introduction page of the CNES flight dynamic tools.
Such kind of tools has already been made available by CNES, for many years. But more recently, it has been decided to make available much other ones particularly due to used languages (Java and Scilab) allowing a greater portability and usability.
About “new” tools, mainly coded in Java, we will find libraries (available with an Open source distribution) or some tools usable as is with their own GUI.
It is also possible to get Scilab tools via links to a specific site.
Other tools, more specific due to their utilization in the frame of the French Space Operation Act (FSOA, LOS in french) are available in the FSOA section.
At last a graphical visualization tool (VTS) is also available via a dedicated site.

PATRIUS
Open source
PATRIUS is a core space dynamics Java library that enables to quickly develop high level algorithms such as orbit extrapolator. PATRIUS contains several low level classes (i.e.: such as matrix, vectors, orbits parameters) as well as high level classes and interfaces (i.e.: numerical propagators, attitude laws, maneuvers sequences).
